One of the most effective ways to attract new patients to a dental practice is through dental advertising. There are many forms of dental advertising including print ads, radio ads, video ads, direct mailers, practice signage, websites, patient testimonials and many forms of social media. However, there are numerous regulations that govern dental advertising and the failure to follow the regulations can lead to dental board complaints that can result in costly fines, discipline and even revocation of a dentist’s license. Advertising is broadly defined by the regulations to include virtually any communication designed to obtain new patient business. This article, published in North Texas Dentistry, will address some of the key components to a compliant advertising plan.
